Hibi is a tableware series designed for those living in the West to feel a trace of Japan in their everyday meals. The delicate, kind, and quietly mysterious sensibility once felt during a journey to Japan, what if that feeling could be brought into daily life?

Each piece follows a distinctly Japanese proportion and curvature. The presence of an oshiro rim, a small lifted edge at the base, articulates Hibi’s design language. But that language is not only visual or formal. It emerges through gathering, through structure, meaning, and movement created in use.

It is in these relationships that language begins, and from language, culture is born. To create a new culture, that is the core of Hibi’s design. From the intersection of Japanese aesthetics and Western gestures, new sensibilities and new connections quietly emerge. The emptiness and stillness held by these small dishes become a form of omoiyari, a gentle, caring presence.

Hibi’s form never insists on itself. It quietly steps back, so that people, food, and space can come forward.
That margin of silence becomes a space for cultures to blend, respect, and coexist.

These dishes do not impose a fixed function. Their meaning and use shift with the hands that hold them, with the cultures they enter. In the end, perhaps the true essence of tableware lies not in its form, but in the hands that use it.

Hibi is made for those hands.
